Troubleshooting PlayStation Remote Play
Remember the following guidelines for iOS users, as Android users will need to find alternative methods to play.
If you encounter problems with PlayStation Remote Play, follow these steps:
1) Confirm that you have followed the setup instructions for PS Remote Play provided here.
*Please be aware that the initial setup needs to be done on the same network as your console.
2) Verify that your phone and PlayStation Remote Play app are updated to the latest versions.
3) Ensure that your console is powered on or in rest mode.
4) Check your console’s connection: Navigate to Settings > Network > Connection Status > Test Internet Connection.
5) Conduct a network speed test on your device. Remote Play requires a minimum connection speed of 5Mbps for upload and download. However, for the best experience, a speed of 15Mbps or faster is recommended.
6) Utilize a 5Ghz Wi-Fi connection or Ethernet. While 2.4 GHz networks will function, they are not optimized for game streaming, even if the speeds are sufficient.
7) Uninstall the PS Remote Play application from your device and then reinstall it.
8) Adjust the Remote Play resolution for PS4 Remote Play (PS4 only): You can enhance your connection by changing the PS4 Remote Play application’s video quality. From the PS Remote Play launch screen on your device, navigate to Settings> Video Quality for Remote Play. Set Resolution to Standard or Low and Frame Rate to Standard.
9) If you are still having trouble setting up Remote Play, please contact the PS Support team here.
